Papers are solicited on all aspects of the science and technology of carbon and carbon-based materials and nanomaterials. Potential presenters are asked to submit a 150-250 word abstract by December 1, 2003 and an extended abstract by March 15, 2004. Authors are invited to suggest the most appropriate audience for their presentation by selecting one of the following major topical areas at the time of submission:

• Adsorption, Gas Storage
• Biological and Medical Applications
• Carbon Nanomaterials
• Chars, Cokes, and Industrial Applications
• Electronic/Electrochemical Properties and Applications
• Flame Formed Carbons
• Materials Characterization/Techniques
• Membranes, Pyrocarbons, Diamond Films
• Novel Forms and Chemically Modified Carbons
• Porous Carbons, Activation
• Precursor Chemistry, Carbonization, Graphitization
• Reactivity, Catalysis, and Surface Science
• Structural Carbons, Fibers, and Composites
